1971 Lamborghini Urraco

The Lamborghini Urraco was a fairly rare sports car made in the early 1970s. All Lamborghinis are hand-built, and only 791 of these cars were ever built. Of those, 21 were designed for the American market, and this is one of them.

This one - serial number 15886 - came up for sale on a local dealer's lot, and after researching it, I couldn't believe how such a rare and exotic car could show up on a used car lot in a place like Harrisonburg. Thankfully, the dealer at least knew what he had, because he was asking $28,500 for it, and it still sold within a week.

While I was unable to buy this car, I did get some pictures of it, and I really wonder what happened to it. Hopefully it went to a good home, where it will be well cared-for, but still driven occasionally. It'd be a shame for a car like that to sit in some garage forever. If you ended up as the lucky owner of this beauty, let me know and I'd be happy to send full-resolution copies of the photos in this gallery for your collection (I'd love to do another photoshoot, too, with much better gear than I had in 2007!).
