Red Sky Over Ponies
Sometimes, I take spontaneous road trips, and this one led me to Assateague Island on a weekday. The weather sucked, it was cold and cloudy all day, I hardly saw any ponies on the island, and I could tell it was going to pour down raining during dinner. However, when the sun started to set, I got to watch the most breathtaking, amazing sunset I've ever seen in my life. It shifted through all the colors, and looked every bit as vivid as this photo, as if someone cranked up the contrast slider on real life. Unfortunately, since I was deep in the brush looking for ponies, I didn't have a good vantage point for landscape photos, but I managed to get a few decent shots looking across the trees.
